Getachew Dagnew (Ethiopia) defended his PhD dissertation on May 26, 2021.The title is “Distillery Stillage Water Pollution Control: An Integrated Approach for Efficient Treatment and Recovery.” His main supervisor was Prof. Esayas Alemayehu, Jimma University, Yonas Chebude (PhD) and Andualem Makonnen (PhD) from Addis Ababa University were also his co-supervisors. And his examiners were Prof. Joon Wun Kang, AAiT, AAU and Prof. Michael Templeton, Imperial College London respectively.Feleke Zewge (PhD) ACEWM, AAU was the chairperson who mediated the session. The dissertation session was attended by different stakeholder in person and on zoom.

The title is “Carbon Storage and Fluxes from a Tropical Freshwater Wetland in Uganda: Implications for Climate Change Mitigation.” His main and co-supervisors were Prof. Frank Kansiime Makerere University and Tadess Fetahi (PhD) respectively. And his examiners were Bekele Lemma (PhD) form Hawassa University, and Prof. Julius Kipkemboi from Egerton University respectively. Feleke Zewge (PhD) was

Fatumah Nakiguli (Uganda) defended her PhD dissertation on May 27, 2021. The title is “Effect of Soil Tillage Systems on Soil Hydrological Processes in Common Bean (Phaseolus Vulgaris L.) Farms in Mukono District, Uganda.” Her main and co-supervisors were Seifu Admasu (PhD), Bahirdar University, and Ssemwanga Mohammed (PhD). Her internal and external examiners were Tena Alamirew, EIWR, AAU and Prof. Tammo S. Steenhuis, Cornell University respectively. Feleke Zewge (PhD) was the chairperson who mediated the session. And his internal and external examiners were Feleke Zewge (PhD) Addis Ababa University and Prof. David Sabatini, University Oklahoma respectively. Beteley Tekola (PhD) ACEWM, AAU was the chairperson who mediated the session. The dissertation session was attended by different stakeholder in person and on zoom.
