Biological Wastewater Treatment and Management

A group lead by Dr. Adey Feleke focuses on microbial ecology of biological wastewater treatment systems and resource recovery from wastewater, with a particular focus on the fate of bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes during the process of recovering Phosphorus and Nitrogen from domestic wastewater. + Read More

Aqua Culture and Aquaponics Technology

It is known that the Ethiopian Rift Valley lakes are supporting the majority of the capture fisheries in Ethiopia. However, most of the lakes are either overexploited or at the verge of collapse. The Africa Centre of Excellence for Water Management in Collaboration with The Arctic University of Norway, Norwegian Veterinary Institute, Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, and Malawi University of Science and Technology won a new capacity building project.
