Acadamic

ACEWM is exclusively running postgraduate programs (PhD and MSc) that are demanded in fulfilling Sustainable Development Goals related to water at least on a region scale through integration.

The Center is an interdisciplinary program which will concentrate on existing capacity and develop new capacity to facilitate collaboration across disciplines and across organizations on long term programmes and projects of direct relevance to Africa’s water sustainability. The ACEWM will have five (5) technical units and one core laboratory which are presented schematically.
Excellence in Water Education and training can be achieved through Master’s and Doctoral degree programmes, internship programmes, refresher short term technical training, support for students to study abroad and joint ventures in student training (between higher education institutions involved with the Consortium or otherwise). The Center provides high calibre students with the opportunity to study with ACEWM partners to further their knowledge.

PhD Programs

ACEWM runs three streams under its Doctor of Philosophy in Water Management:

Aquatic Ecosystems Management

Couplings of the biogeochemistry of all components of the ecosystem, the drainage basin, land-water interface communities, .

Water Science and Technology

Water is essential and preservation of its safety in quantity and in quality is critical to the sustainable development of any society.

Hydrology and Water Resources

Hydrology deals with the understanding, appraisal and exploitation of hydrogeological resources.

MSc Programs

The Master of Science in Water Management programs at ACEWM are offered in five streams:

Aquatic Ecosystems Management

Understand how hydrology, morphology and aquatic organisms ..

Water Supply and Sanitation

Understand the structure of drinking water supply systems,..

Hydrology & Water Resources Management

Have in-depth understanding of the current theories and concepts..

Water Quality Management

Understand and predict for given water resources system ..

Water and Waste water Treatment technology(WWTT)

Understand the nature of impurities in waters and wastewaters..
