As part of its institutional capacity building and digitalization initiatives, ACEWM is set to deploy an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
ACEM proposed to deploy the system with the aim of automating ACEWM’s Business process and to comply with legislative government policies and guidelines of donors and partners of ACEWM.
When deployed, the ERP system is expected to provide daily access to 20 up to 25 common users and will allow the incorporation of new users if necessary. The system will mainly automate finance, procurement, stock and property management, HDR, academy, and project management. A web-based employee portal will also be part of the Enterprise Resource Planning system and the platform will give access to relevant self-services through a single online portal based on user access level. The portal will be accessed using web browsers and/or mobile devices and it is designed to be mobile-friendly and responsive.
The intuitive interface of the ERP system will allow users to easily adapt within a short period of time from the initial stage of using the system and facilitate the change management efforts. Once the development stage is finalized, the ERP system will be integrated with other ERP systems of the university computer application and software such as Microsoft Word Excel and Peachtree, and it will be easily customizable by employees without the need for support from the developers.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system will be implemented commonly by ACEWM staff, management of the College of Natural and Computational Science, graduate students, instructors, and national and international partners based on the level of their role.
ACEWM invasions to be a leading teaching and research center of excellence facilitating equitable and sustainable development and use of water resources for poverty alleviation, socio-economic development, regional cooperation, and the environment in Africa. Such capacity building and digitalization initiatives will enhance ACEWM to attain its vision.
