About ACEWM
The Africa Center of Excellence for Water Resources Management (ACEWM), hosted by Addis Ababa University, is a joint initiative of the Ethiopian Government and World Bank Group. As Ethiopia’s first AQAS-accredited center, we develop water professionals through interdisciplinary programs. Since 2016, ACEWM has trained scholars from Africa and Europe with global academic partnerships.

Delivery: Lectures, seminars, field studies, video conferences, and e-learning.
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship: Open only to non-Ethiopian African nationals.
- Academic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (see table above) from a recognized university.
- Foreign degrees must be authenticated by Ethiopia’s Education and Training Authority (ETA) before admission.
- Language: Proof of English proficiency.
- Testing: Pass the Graduate Admission Test (GAT).

Application Requirements
Submit one compiled PDF file including:
- Cover page with full name (as on ID/passport), contact details, and intended program.
- Copy of passport/ID.
- Curriculum vitae (max 4 pages).
- Authenticated degree certificates and transcripts.
- Personal statement (max 500 words).
- Employer’s study leave commitment letter (if employed).
- Three recommendation letters (academic/professional).
- Professional experience certificates (if any).
Fellowship Support
- Monthly stipend: 500 USD (paid in Ethiopian Birr).
- ACEWM will have a modest funding to support MSc research projects of all successful applicants.
