About ACEWM
The Africa Centre of Excellence for Water Management (ACEWM) at Addis Ababa University is a leading regional center for advanced education, research, and innovation in water and environmental sustainability. Established with the support of the Government of Ethiopia and the World Bank Group, ACEWM is Ethiopia’s first AQAS-accredited center of excellence.
ACEWM provides interdisciplinary graduate education, applied research opportunities, and international academic collaborations in areas related to water resources, environmental sustainability, and development.
Scholarship Opportunity: ACEWM, in partnership with the Wuha Sira Initiative, is pleased to announce a limited number of MSc scholarship for financially disadvantaged female Ethiopian students for the 2026/27 academic year.
The scholarship aims to support academically capable women who are unable to cover the costs of graduate education and who are committed to contributing to sustainable water and environmental management in Ethiopia.
Scholarship Coverage: The scholarship may include: Tuition and registration fees; Research-related expenses; and a modest monthly living stipend based on demonstrated financial need and availability of funds

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be female Ethiopian nationals
- Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
- Meet Addis Ababa University graduate admission requirements
- Pass the Graduate Admission Test (GAT)
- Demonstrate strong academic achievement and commitment
- Be available for full-time study at Addis Ababa University
- Demonstrate financial need (official evidence from local Kebele administration confirming that financially unable to cover educational and living expenses independently)

- Updated Curriculum Vitae (maximum 4 pages)
- Copy of national ID or passport
- Academic transcripts and degree certificates
- Motivation letter (maximum 500 words)
- Three recommendation letters
- Proof of English language proficiency (if available)
- Professional experience certificates (if available)
- Kebele support letter confirming financial hardship
- Employer support letter/study leave letter (if employed)
