AWS-2026: Africa Water Security Conference Towards a Water-Secure and Resilient Africa

The countdown to the International Conference on Africa Water Security 2026 (AWS-2026) has begun, with only a few days remaining until this landmark gathering opens its doors in Addis Ababa.

Under the theme “Towards a Water-Secure and Resilient Africa,” AWS-2026 will take place from September 21–23, 2026, bringing together leading scholars, researchers, policymakers, development partners, practitioners, and other stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.

The conference will provide a dynamic platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on some of the continent’s most pressing water challenges. Participants will explore innovative research, policies, technologies, and practical solutions aimed at strengthening water security, building climate resilience, and advancing sustainable water management across Africa.

Organized by the Africa Center of Excellence for Water Management (ACEWM), Addis Ababa University in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Water and Energy, AWS-2026 is expected to bring together a diverse community committed to shaping the future of water security on the continent.
